Get in touch

Better numbers, sooner, from someone who has sat on both sides of a deal.

Whether you want management accounts that arrive early enough to act on, someone senior to think with, or a business that will stand up to a buyer's questions, it starts the same way: a short conversation about where things are now.

    Wherever you are

The numbers arrive too late to be useful

Management accounts on the 25th are a history lesson. You need them fast, forward-looking, and in a form that answers the questions you actually have. That is the most common reason people call, and the easiest thing to fix.

There is nobody senior to think with

You have outgrown the bookkeeper but cannot justify a full-time finance director, and the decisions have got bigger than the information. A CFO two days a month closes that gap at a fraction of the cost of a hire.

Something is coming: a sale, an MBO, a raise

A transaction in the next one to three years changes what your numbers need to prove. The work that moves a valuation takes years to show up, so the conversation is worth having early.

    Build the numbers once

The reporting that helps you run the business month to month is, almost exactly, the reporting a buyer's advisers will ask for in diligence. Same revenue analysis. Same margin detail by customer and product. Same working capital picture. Same forecast, tested against what actually happened.

Most businesses build one version to keep the month closed, then scramble to build the other under time pressure when a deal appears. That is where price gets chipped, because anything assembled in a hurry looks like it was assembled in a hurry.

We build it once, to the standard that survives the room. If you never sell, you have run the business on better information for years. If you do sell, the evidence is already there.

If you think it is too early to talk

The changes that move a valuation take two to three years to show up in the numbers. An owner eighteen months out has options: customer concentration can be reduced, a management team can be built, the reporting can be made to stand up. An owner eight weeks out mostly has regrets.

And if a sale is not on your mind at all, that is fine. Most of our work is the monthly running of a finance function for people who simply want to know where they stand.

    What happens next

We reply the same working day. Usually within a couple of hours.

    03

If it is a fit, we book a twenty-minute call. If it is not, we will say so and point you to someone better suited.

    Send your enquiry

Tell us where things stand and we will come back to you the same working day. A person reads every enquiry.

    For accountants and advisers

If you have a client who needs a finance function built, whether that is monthly reporting they can rely on or preparation for a transaction, say so in the form and we will come back to you the same day. We work alongside the incumbent accountant rather than replacing them, and we do not cross-sell to your clients.
